In Loving Memory of

William R. Campbell was a long time resident of Cincinnati, having lived here since 1968. He worked for local company KDI Precision Products for over 30 years, designing and manufacturing weapons systems for the U.S. Military. He retired from the company in 1999. Since retiring, Mr. Campbell has enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoying his beloved time enjoying outdoor activities.

Mr. Campbell 85, of Anderson Township, died May 20 after a short battle with cancer.

"He was passionate about a number of things in his life -especially his family, fishing, hunting mushrooms, and just being outdoors. He was a true outdoorsman who loved spending time in the woods and enjoying nature" said his daughter Debby Newsam, 55, of Dallas TX.

Mr. Campbell grew up in Rockford, OH and lived in the Southeast Ohio area all of his life.
After high school Mr. Campbell served in the U.S. Marine Corp where here bravely fought in two of the fiercest engagements, the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was extremely proud of the service he gave to his country, which included being deployed to China and Korea, where he was awarded a medal for his outstanding military conduct/service. His time spent in the Marines was a tremendous sense of pride for both Mr. Campbell and his surviving family.

Survivors include his daughter, Debby Newsam, sons Tom and Dave Campbell, Nieces Shirley May, Thelma Jean Ball, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and scores of dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Moore Funeral Home 225 Spring Street Batavia, OH. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
