Steve Shiveley, age 58 of Batavia, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati, Anderson, November 23, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the adoring husband of Sylvia Sandlin Shiveley for 33 years and devoted father to Steven Eric Shiveley & his wife, Kim of Amelia and Adam Franklin Shiveley (deceased).   Steve is also survived by his mother, Elsie Eldridge Shiveley, one sister, Sharon Stoffel (Frank) and wonderful friends and neighbors Denny & Chris Isaacs, all from Batavia.   He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends, co-workers and fellow motorcycle riders.  He was proceeded in death by his son, Adam Franklin Shiveley (1997) and father Harry Franklin Shiveley (1974).  He had a keen affection for his “Grandpuppies”.    He lovingly filled the role as a Grandfather figure for three wonderful children.  He was a kind, loving man who lived his faith, loved his family, helped anyone in need, he loved anything technical or computer related and traveling the world at every opportunity whether for business or pleasure.  Steve graduated from Batavia High School in 1971.  He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association (GWRRA – E2 Chapter) and enjoyed spending his time traveling on his motorcycle which was lovingly detailed in tribute to his sons.  Steve was a Major (R) with the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol where he served as the Squadron Commander of Squadron 109 based at Clermont County Airport.  He was named Top Ground Team Leader for the Ohio Wing and received many other Ohio Wing Commendations as well as several Emergency Services Awards from Group 1 for his Search and Rescue missions.  Steve served his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Village of Batavia/Batavia Township and was heavily involved in the Methodist Church as well as the Boy Scouts of America.  He coached soccer for his sons for many years culminating in winning seasons.  Many others will remember him as their Little League or basketball coach many years ago.  Steve will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.  We are grateful for the wonderful support of Hospice of Cincinnati, Clermont Mercy Hospital and Dr. Apurva Metha and the staff of Oncology Partners Network Eastgate and for the many friends and relatives who came to pray with him and share stories during the last weeks of his life. Family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 6pm to 9 pm on Monday, November 28, 2011.  Memorial service will take place on Tuesday, 11am at the Moore Family Funeral Home 225 Spring Street Batavia with interment at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, Ohio.    Remembrance may be sent to: Hospice of Cincinnati. c/o Bethesda Foundation Group, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597.
