Richard Channing Jamieson

Richard C. Jamieson, 93, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, in Sarasota, Florida. He was born July 16, 1923, to Elizabeth Hunt and Donald G. Jamieson. Richard was the devoted husband of Juanita (nee Vise) Jamieson for 19 years and the late Margaret Judd Jamieson for 48 years. He was the loving father of Beth (Jeff) Armitage, Andrew (Julie Hulse) Jamieson, and Melissa (Phyllis McIver) Jamieson, step-father of Dan (Barbara Hunt) Thompson and Kyna (James) Smith, grandfather to 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren. Richard served his country during World War ll and the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army; graduated from Hanover College, IN; served as Mayor of Batavia for 17 years; Batavia School Board Member; Batavia Village Council member; and was manager of the Carroll-Jamieson Machine Tool Company in Batavia. Family will receive friends for a Celebration of Richard’s life January 31, from 10 AM to time of service 12 noon at the Batavia First Presbyterian Church, 277 North St., Batavia, OH, 45103. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Batavia, OH.
