Carl F Ungethuem

BATAVIA - Carl F. Ungethuem, age 95, passed away on May 21, 2024. He was born on October 7, 1928, to the late Fred and Sophie (nee Franz) Ungethuem. Carl was the devoted husband of 71 years to the late Wanda Ungethuem; loving father of Paul (Malynda) Ungethuem, Esther (Kenneth) Garber, Michelle Ungethuem, Susan (late Harvey) Hamrick and the late Deborah (surviving Larry) Barz; cherished grandfather of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; dear brother of Donald (Holly) Ungethuem and the late Jim (surviving Irma) Ungethuem.

Carl was a lifelong attendee and member of Batavia Faith United Methodist Church, holding numerous offices throughout his life. Carl was a farmer, worked for the United States Postal Service, and several divisions of the USDA. Carl and Wanda loved to travel, visiting numerous places in the United States and abroad. They were excited to have visited nearly all of the 50 states. 

Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 5PM-7PM at Batavia Faith United Methodist Church - 180 North 5th Street, Batavia, Ohio 45103. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10AM also at the church. Interment will follow at Batavia Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carl's honor may be made to Batavia Faith United Methodist Church to install new church doors, which was Carl's vision for the future of the church.
