Dave always made me feel fabulous. His big smile and hello at every Yacht club event and as I went up and down the dock. From my first days married to Trip to the last time I saw Dave in Michigan, he made me feel welcome. Like I really was family and belonged. And all the Yacht club extravaganza's that he and Peg put on and Dave singing MORE at the end. Vic Sr. always said is my best friend and my oldest friend...meaning longtime. Once when we went to Cincy for Easter, Dave bagged my groceries...when I got into the car, I said, wow somebody who looked like Dave Ecker bagged my groceries....then I learned it was him! My love to you and your family for your loss....godspeed. He will be missed by all of the Abnee clan.

Dave and Peggy were 2 of my favorite friends of my parents in LCI and in Boca Grande FL where they visited Mom and Dad often. I got such a kick out of both of their youthful spirits and zest for life which they displayed in many ways...notably with Peg planning the Extravanganza at the LCYC, and Dave gamely participating wherever he was needed. He was kind, funny, and over-the-top charming. In short, I loved him. Blessings to his family. Sincerely, Amy Ashworth Pendery
