Eugene Miller

Eugene "Gene" Miller, age 84, of Batavia, Ohio, died January 6, 2022. He leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, Loretta J. Miller (nee Hamm). Gene was born March 21, 1937, in Fincastle, Lee County, Kentucky to Henry Miller and Josephine Carter. He graduated from Batavia High School in 1957. He worked at Clermont Cleaners in Batavia before going to work for the Ford Motor Company in 1968, retiring in 1993 after 25 years. He was a member of the UAW and learned of the wonderful benefits the UAW provided him in his retirement. Gene was a member of the Batavia Holy Trinity Church and later transferred to St. Veronica. He is also survived by his aunt, Sharlene Carter of Mt. Orab; brother in law, Herman Hamm of Dry Ridge, Kentucky and nephew Nicholas Hamm (Heather) and great niece Alexandra Hamm. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dean Miller and Herman Riedell and sister Marian Riedell. Family will receive friends 7 to 8 PM Monday, January 10 at Moore Family Funeral Home, 225 Spring Street, Batavia. Graveside service/prayers 12 noon Tuesday, January 11 at Batavia Union Cemetery.
