James G. Nichols

Nichols, James "Jim" G., 8/16/17, age 77, resident of Batavia. Husband of the late Marci Lynn (nee Kelley) Nichols. Beloved father of Lisa Beth (Cesar Edwin) Dario and Jeannette (Timothy Glenn) Nichols. Grandfather of Cali Nichole, Nathan Thomas, Nataleigh Anne, Cesar James, Timothy James and Margaret Cecilia. Brother of Thomas S. (Leslie). Son of the late Hugh C. and Winbourne "Winnie" S. Nichols. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday 5-8 at Moore Family Funeral Homes 225 Spring St. Batavia with service Tuesday 11 AM at The Crossings Church 4359 East Bauman Lane Batavia. Memorials donations may be directed to the Marci and Jim Nichols Scholarship Fund in care of the Batavia Alumni Association P.O. Box 294 Batavia, OH 45103. A lifetime resident of Batavia, Jim was a partner of the law firm Nichols, Speidel and Nichols for 40 years. He was a Batavia High School alumni, graduated Miami University in 1961 where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and graduated from The University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1968. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. He was the president of the Clermont County Bar Assn. from 1979-1980, a Special Assistant Ohio Attorney General 1971-1994, a member of the Batavia Board of Education from 1984-1997 and President in 1990. He was an Assistant Clermont County Prosecutor 1997-2012. Member of the American Cancer Society 1972-1980 and president 1976-1977. Jim served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy 1962-1965.
