James "Jim" Taylor

June 4, 1944 — July 16, 2025

Taylor, James W. " Jim" resident of Batavia, passed peacefully with his loving family around him on July 17, 2025 at the age of 81. Devoted husband of 46 years to Tracy Taylor (nee Didday). Loving father of Matthew Taylor and Jennifer (Travis) Newcomb. Cherished grandfather of Natalie and Collin Newcomb. Brother of Charles Taylor, the late David Taylor and Rebecca Hickman. Brother-in-law of Kerry Didday and Susan Stettler. Uncle of many neices and nephews. Family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 10 AM until time of service 12 Noon all at the Emmanuel Methodist Church, 4312 Amelia-Olive Branch Road, Batavia, Ohio 45103. Interment Williamsburg Cemetery. Jim was an associate professor at University of Cincinnati in both Geography and Geology. He also worked for 30 years for Clermont County and at one time served as a Williamsburg Township Trustee and Village of Williamsburg Administrator. He was very active in his church and loved photography, hiking, reading and geology. Memorials are welcomed to be donated to the New Harmony Methodist Church, 1445 New Harmony Shiloh Rd, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176.
