VIETNAM WAR, NAVY VETERAN CARR Richard Allen of Batavia, age 73. Devoted husband of Diane C. Carr (nee McCann). Loving father of Jamie (Lorie) Carr and Lacey (Greg) Poynter. Step-father of Paul D. (Melissa) Kelsey and Robert N. (Carrie) Kelsey. Brother of Gary, Paul Carr and Brenda Williams. Cherished grandfather of Alex, Liam Carr, Natalie, Noah and Nathan Poynter and 4 step-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his feathered friends Billy Bird and the late Miss Buddie. The family will receive friends 6 PM Friday, March 11, 2016 until 8 PM time of service where Masonic and Scottish Rite services will be held at 7:30 PM at the Moore Family Funeral Homes 225 Spring St. Batavia. Interment procession to Arlington Memorial Gardens Mt Healthy, OH. will leave on Saturday 12 Noon from the Batavia Funeral Home. Richard was a member of the Melrose Lodge # 617 F&AM Norwood and of Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite. Richard served our country on the USS America CVA66 and the USS Forrestal CVA-59 COMCAR IV #2 in the Gulf of Tonkin. Richard retired from Ford Motor Co. after 44 years and was a supervisor in both the Sheffield, Alabama and Batavia Plants. Memorials may be directed to any Alcoholics Anonymous or to the American Lung Society.
