Richard Kenneth Carson Jr., 85, of Summerside, Ohio, passed away on April 16, 2026.
Richard is survived by his son, Jeffery Carson; his daughters, Christine (Carson) Miller (Keith), Diane (Carson) McGeorge, and Angela Carson; and his grandchildren, Alysson, Nathan, McGeorge, Rachel, Carson, Cameron, Miller, and Briceton Carman. He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Carson (Gary Levin), and his sister, Sherry (Carson) Senters.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Woodall) Carson; his parents, Richard and Elizabeth Carson; and his sister, Marjorie Carson.
Richard was born on March 7, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He dedicated 48 years of service to Thriftway Food & Drug. In addition to his full-time career, he served his community as a firefighter for 15 years and as fire chief for the final five years. He took great pride in protecting and serving others.
Above all, Richard was devoted to his wife and four children; his love for his family was evident throughout his life. He enjoyed camping, playing chess, studying history, and watching the Cincinnati Reds. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, April 23, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 7:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main Street, Newtown, Ohio.
