Sarah Rose Culpepper

BATAVIA - Sarah Rose Culpepper, age 88, passed away on May 3, 2026. She was born on August 11, 1937, to the late Edward and Minnie (nee Owens) Purcell. Sarah was the devoted wife of Whit Culpepper; loving mother of Melessa (Roger) Price, Melody (Bill) Schaller, and Jeff (Tina) Culpepper; cherished grandmother of Aaron, Adam, Alan, Isaac, Samuel, Joshua, Tim, Jeffrey, Christianna, Ciara, and the late Wesley; great-grandmother of numerous great-grandchildren; dear sister of John (the late Wilma) Purcell, Glen Purcell, the late Kenneth (Luella) Purcell, and the late Fern Purcell; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. 

Sarah was a song evangelist and loved playing the accordion and piano throughout a lifetime in ministerial service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and at church. For many years she had a garden and canned. Sarah also liked to sew. 

Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10AM until 12PM funeral service at Moore Family Funeral Homes - 225 Spring Street, Batavia, Ohio 45103. Interment will follow at Stonelick Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sarah's honor may be made to Afton Wesleyan Church - 2940 Old State Route 32, Batavia, Ohio 45103.
