Sarah Hall

BATAVIA - Sarah James (nee Derr) Hall, age 78, passed away on September 4, 2026, following a long illness. She was born on February 15, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late W. Lawrence and Virginia Lee (nee Crist) Derr. Sarah was the beloved wife of the late Paul Hall; dear sister of Donna McBride and Jane Gremling; and aunt to two nieces, one nephew, and their children. 

Sarah was a lifelong Presbyterian, becoming a Deacon in 1987. She was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution, the First Families of Ohio, and the First Families of Lawrence County Ohio. She was an avid horsewoman, and enjoyed riding for the pleasure and the thrill of jumping. Her love of art and her natrual abilitiy for oil painting led Sarah to painting portraits and landscapes. 

A graveside service will be held on September 17, 2026, at 10AM at Reading Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Amelia Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sarah's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
