Stephen Paul Munro

FAYETTEVILLE - Stephen Paul Munro, age 76, passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1949, to the late Paul and Barbara (nee McGurn) Munro. Stephen was the devoted husband of the late Debra (nee Concannon) Munro; loving father of Renee (Ryan) Filiater; cherished grandfather of Alex Filiater and Aubrey Filiater; dear brother of Pam (Tom) Lavoie; brother-in-law of Maureen (the late Bill) Adduci and Paul (Patty) Concannon; beloved uncle of Marc (Alison) Adduci, Lauren (Kyle) Weisbrodt; Kevin (Kelly) Adduci, Adam (Erin) Lavoie, Shane (Eileen) Lavoie, and Anna (Robert) Cummings; and great-uncle of Catherine, Ethan, Ryan, Louisa, and Gunner. 

Stephen proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Though he grew up in Massachusetts, he settled in Ohio, then moved to Arizona, and ultimately came back to Ohio to be closer to his family. Stephen had a deep love for his family, and nothing brought him more happiness than joining in the many activities they shared together. He was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables, he liked traveling, fishing, animals, and spending time at area casinos. He was also the Past Exalted Ruler of Sedona Elks Lodge #2291.

Those who wish to pay their respects may join the family for visitation on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:30AM to 11AM at Batavia Faith United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held immediately following, with military honors rendered in tribute. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stephen's honor may be made to the League for Animal Welfare.
