Wanda Lawrence

Wanda (nee Slaven) Lawrence, age 94, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away at Arden Courts of Anderson in Cincinnati on October 22, 2023. Wanda was born in Hilltop, KY to the late Parker Slaven and Ollie Florence (nee Tucker) Slaven on May 27th, 1929.

Wanda moved to Cincinnati after high school and worked as a secretary at Allis-Chalmers until her retirement, when she enjoyed traveling, square dancing, bowling, and attending Cincinnati Reds baseball games with her late husband Al. Wanda was an active member of the Rose Reds and the Beechmont Squares dance group.

She enjoyed spending time with her large extended family and was active with her church family of St. Veronica of Mt. Carmel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, her brothers Nathan Slaven and Mack Roger Slaven, her sisters Vina Ramsey and Gloria Hughes, and three infant siblings. Wanda is survived by her brothers Parker Slaven Jr. and Leland Slaven, her sisters Cedith Ford, Katheryn Crabtree, Thressa Dolen, and Patricia King, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on October 30th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Veronica Church of Mt. Carmel - 4473 Mt Carmel Tobasco Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244. Graveside service to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery - 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
